Does this look ripe to you?

technically yes and probally still ripening
hard to tell from picture but maybe could remain for up to 6 more weeks in ground, also depends how deep , if its a surface truffle probably couple of weeks will be at its best but couple of inches of soil above its hat and probably 6 weeks before at its best (what does it taste like) I have cob tree on downs that produces early truffle (august september) and although exciting have never rated them very highly but I am always being proved wrong
