Back to the mud
We had to work on a lead which wasn't much fun but look at these beauties! I need a proper bag now as one was too big to fit into my pocket and a proper spade too as I broke one trying to extract it with my fingers .
Sasha

The biggest was quarter kilo but my smaller garden truffles have a better taste. Isn't it so odd how it all came about x

Sasha, I think different trees and environment (changing with the climate) make quality of truffle so variable. Further inland has been very poor harvest for the winter aestivum, missing out on rainfall, unlike the early aestivum harvest sometimes pushing through the surface seems to have done well although the fruit maybe abit dry.
I agree with size not important.
