T Melanosporum and uncinatum all both in the same truffle bed and whatch out for Brumale

The orchard produces both of the above truffle and requires careful management to not disturb the ripening black melano sporum . The poor soil seems to favour the black truffle almost stealing the march . Planted mostly with hazel very tightly has before produced bitter fruit but with good management now some of the best I have ever chased around the orchard and plate 

please note with the canopy left over several seasons and the original chosen site prone to brumale we did harvest 3 of these specimens in 2023 but now no sign of them with the above truffle holding the fort but I expect without careful future management will be dominated by the brumale

we do need more site pacific surveys carried out before planting truffle infected trees as the trees are cheap compared to the work involved in looking after them
